Hand-cut mother-of-pearl flora, butterflies, and insects shimmer across layers of red and black Ottchil lacquer. This exquisite Gyeongdae (Traditional Mirror Dressing Box) is a rare symphony of two legendary motifs - Hwajeop-mun (Flowers and Butterflies) and Cho-chung-do (Flowers and Insects). Each delicate butterfly and tiny insect is meticulously hand-cut from premium abalone shell - a technique known as Najeon-chilgi - and laid upon a deep, soulful canvas of natural Ottchil lacquer.
