SHIPPING POLICY
Last updated: March 29, 2026
At Signature Legacy, we present museum-grade Korean masterworks, heritage crafts, limited editions, and individually finished works by Korean master artisans. Many of these works require specialized handling, careful packaging, certification preparation, and, in some cases, extended production or finishing time before shipment.
This Shipping Policy explains how we process, prepare, pack, and ship orders placed through our store.
Nothing in this Shipping Policy limits any mandatory consumer rights you may have under applicable law.
1. GLOBAL SHIPPING
We offer international shipping to many destinations worldwide.
Because many Signature Legacy works are high-value, fragile, handmade, limited, one-of-a-kind, or culturally significant, we use trusted premium carriers such as DHL Express, FedEx, UPS, EMS, specialized art logistics providers, or other appropriate logistics partners, depending on the destination, value of the work, package requirements, customs conditions, and the nature of the work.
Available shipping methods may vary by country, order type, artwork category, value, packaging requirements, and carrier availability.
We reserve the right to select the shipping method, service level, packing method, and logistics partner that we believe are most secure and appropriate for the work and destination.
2. ORDER TYPES, PRODUCTION, AND PREPARATION TIMES
A. Ready-to-ship works
Ready-to-ship items are typically dispatched within 3–7 business days after order confirmation and successful payment processing, unless additional inspection, documentation, certification, packing, or export preparation is required.
B. Made-to-order, individually finished, reserved, or artisan-scheduled works
Many Signature Legacy works are not ordinary mass-produced goods. They may be made-to-order, individually finished, allocated to a specific collector, reserved in limited release, or prepared through a heritage craft process involving Korean master artisans.
Depending on the work, production, finishing, documentation, certification, packing, and international fulfillment may generally take approximately one to six months after order confirmation.
The exact timeline may vary depending on the artisan’s schedule, the complexity of the work, material readiness, natural drying or curing, lacquer curing, kiln firing, finishing process, certification preparation, export documentation, packing requirements, weather, logistics, customs procedures, and other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
After your order is placed and accepted, we will provide a more specific estimated production, preparation, or dispatch timeline where available.
Any production, preparation, dispatch, or delivery timeline provided by Signature Legacy is an estimate only and is not a guaranteed delivery date, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
Reasonable delays resulting from handmade production, artisan finishing, natural drying or curing, kiln firing, lacquer curing, documentation, certification, inspection, international shipping, customs, insurance review, or logistics processing do not automatically create a right to cancel, return, exchange, or receive a refund, except where required by applicable law.
3. ORDER CONFIRMATION AND PRODUCTION START
Once an order is accepted, a work is allocated, a reservation is confirmed, materials are procured, or production, finishing, certification, documentation, or packing has begun, cancellation, return, exchange, or refund may be unavailable, except where required by applicable law or expressly approved by Signature Legacy in writing.
Because many Signature Legacy works are created or completed over weeks or months and involve natural materials, hand-finishing, and master artisan processes, the shipping timeline must be understood together with our Return & Refund Policy and Terms of Service.
Please review those policies carefully before placing your order.
4. PACKAGING AND HANDLING
Each work is packed with great care to help protect it during domestic or international transit.
Depending on the nature of the work, packaging may include:
- reinforced outer cartons;
- protective wrapping;
- shock-absorbing materials;
- moisture-protection layers;
- custom interior supports;
- corner protection;
- surface protection for lacquer, nacre, ceramic, wood, metal, textile, or other delicate materials; and
- reinforced packaging or wooden crating where appropriate.
Our goal is to ensure that each work arrives as safely as possible while respecting the condition, materials, and presentation of the piece.
5. PREMIUM WOODEN CRATING OPTION
For certain high-value, fragile, large, or collector-grade works, Signature Legacy may offer an optional premium wooden crating service for an additional fee.
This option may include a stronger protective wooden box or reinforced crate structure designed to provide enhanced protection during international transit.
Premium wooden crating may be recommended or required for certain works depending on the size, weight, fragility, destination, carrier requirements, insurance conditions, or customs handling risk.
If premium wooden crating is available for your order, we may provide a separate quotation or invoice before shipment. The cost may vary depending on the work, dimensions, weight, destination, materials, and logistics requirements.
Once premium wooden crating, custom packing, or special handling has begun, related packaging, crating, handling, and preparation fees may be non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.
Premium wooden crating improves protection but does not guarantee that a shipment will be free from all risk, delay, inspection, customs handling, or carrier-related events.
6. INSURANCE, DECLARED VALUE, AND SIGNATURE DELIVERY
For many high-value orders, we may arrange insured shipping or declared-value coverage where available and appropriate through the selected carrier, insurer, or logistics provider.
Signature upon delivery may be required for certain shipments, especially for high-value, fragile, limited, reserved, or one-of-a-kind works.
Insurance coverage, declared-value protection, and carrier liability may be subject to the terms, exclusions, limits, documentation requirements, and procedures of the relevant carrier, insurer, or logistics provider.
We may require additional recipient information, identification, customs information, phone number, or delivery coordination before shipment.
7. ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIMES AFTER DISPATCH
After dispatch, estimated transit times are typically as follows:
- North America: approximately 3–10 business days
- Europe / United Kingdom: approximately 3–10 business days
- Asia-Pacific: approximately 2–10 business days
- Other destinations: timing varies depending on route, customs processing, carrier availability, and local delivery conditions
Remote areas, islands, rural zones, customs-sensitive destinations, restricted regions, or destinations requiring special handling may require additional time.
Delivery times after dispatch are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
8. CUSTOMS, DUTIES, VAT, AND IMPORT CHARGES
International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage fees, disbursement fees, handling charges, storage fees, inspection fees, or other local charges imposed by the destination country.
Unless expressly stated otherwise at checkout or in writing, these charges are the responsibility of the recipient.
We are not responsible for delays caused by customs clearance, import inspections, local regulations, unpaid duties or taxes, incomplete recipient information, restricted import rules, or carrier procedures.
If a shipment is refused, abandoned, delayed, returned, seized, or held due to unpaid customs charges, failed delivery attempts, recipient inaction, incorrect information, import restrictions, or failure to provide required documents, any original shipping charges, return shipping charges, customs charges, storage fees, insurance fees, carrier fees, payment processing fees, and related losses may be deducted from any refund to the extent permitted by applicable law.
9. ADDRESS ACCURACY AND DELIVERY COORDINATION
Please ensure that your shipping address, recipient name, phone number, email address, and any required customs information are complete and accurate at the time of purchase.
We are not responsible for delays, failed delivery, customs issues, return shipments, or losses resulting from incorrect, incomplete, undeliverable, or outdated shipping information provided by the customer.
We may be unable to ship to certain P.O. boxes, military addresses, forwarding services, hotels, temporary accommodation, freight forwarders, or locations that the carrier considers restricted, inaccessible, or high-risk.
For high-value or fragile works, we may contact you before shipment to confirm delivery arrangements.
10. TRACKING
Once your order has been dispatched, we will send a shipping confirmation email that includes tracking information, where available.
Please note that tracking updates may not appear immediately and may depend on carrier scanning, customs processing, transit routes, and destination-country systems.
For certain premium, insured, or specialized shipments, tracking visibility may vary depending on the logistics provider and destination.
11. DELIVERY DELAYS
We are not liable for shipping or delivery delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- handmade production schedules;
- artisan finishing delays;
- natural drying or curing time;
- lacquer curing;
- kiln firing schedules;
- certification or documentation preparation;
- customs inspections;
- import review;
- severe weather;
- transportation disruption;
- carrier backlog;
- labor disputes;
- public holidays;
- political events;
- regional restrictions;
- force majeure events;
- insurance review;
- local delivery partner delays; or
- delays caused by incomplete customer information or unpaid duties, taxes, or fees.
A delay in production, preparation, dispatch, international transit, customs clearance, or local delivery does not automatically entitle you to cancel an order, refuse delivery, return the work, or receive a refund, except where required by applicable law.
12. DAMAGED, LOST, OR INCORRECT SHIPMENTS
Please inspect your package promptly upon delivery.
If your order arrives visibly damaged, appears to have been mishandled in transit, or if you receive the wrong item, please contact us at:
concierge@signaturelegacy.co
within 48 hours of delivery.
Please include:
1) your order number;
2) photographs of the outer packaging;
3) photographs of the inner packaging;
4) photographs of protective materials;
5) clear photographs of the item received; and
6) a brief description of the issue.
Please keep all original packaging, protective materials, labels, documents, and the item itself until the issue has been reviewed. Carrier or insurance claims may be denied if required packaging or documentation is discarded.
If a package appears lost in transit, please contact us as soon as possible. We will review the shipment status and, where applicable, work with the carrier, insurer, or logistics provider to initiate an investigation or claim process.
Resolution may depend on carrier procedures, insurance review, documentation, customs records, delivery scans, and the circumstances of the shipment.
Depending on the nature of the work, available remedies may include repair, replacement, store credit, partial refund, refund, or another reasonable solution, in accordance with applicable law, our Return & Refund Policy, and the specific circumstances of the shipment.
13. SPLIT SHIPMENTS
Some orders may be shipped in multiple packages or at different times, particularly where an order includes works with different production schedules, artisan workshops, packaging requirements, certification timelines, or completion dates.
If this applies to your order, we will communicate the shipping arrangement where reasonably possible.
Additional shipping, packing, crating, customs, or insurance charges may apply where multiple shipments are required or requested, unless otherwise stated in writing.
14. RETURNS, REFUNDS, AND INTERNATIONAL RETURN SHIPPING
Returns, refunds, exchanges, and cancellations are governed by our Return & Refund Policy, which forms part of this Shipping Policy.
Because many Signature Legacy works are made-to-order, limited-allocation, custom, personalized, reserved, one-of-a-kind, commissioned, or individually finished, certain works may be final sale or subject to restricted return rights.
International returns may take longer than domestic returns due to customs processing, carrier procedures, inspection, insurance review, documentation requirements, and payment-provider processing times.
Unless the return is due to confirmed damage, defect, incorrect shipment, or another reason required by applicable law, return shipping costs, customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, insurance fees, packing fees, wooden crating fees, handling fees, and related charges are the customer’s responsibility and may not be refundable.
Items sent back without prior written approval will not be accepted.
15. BEFORE YOU PURCHASE

- production timeline;
- expected preparation or delivery period;
- packing method;
- premium wooden crating option;
- insurance;
- destination availability;
- customs duties and import taxes;

- installation or handling;
