CLIENT SUPPORT
A. PROVENANCE & MASTER LEGACY
Yes. Every work presented by Signature Legacy is created by an officially recognized Korean master artisan and selected for its artistic distinction, impeccable provenance, and masterful command of the tradition it carries forward.
Our collection brings together recognized holders of Korea’s National or City/Provincial Intangible Heritage, where applicable, as well as distinguished artisans awarded the government-conferred title of Master Craftsman of Korea.
Before any work is offered, we verify the master’s official credentials and document the provenance of the piece. Each product page identifies the creator’s recognized status and presents the relevant provenance details, allowing you to acquire not merely an exceptional work of art, but an enduring expression of Korea’s living cultural legacy—with complete confidence.
Intangible Cultural Heritage encompasses the knowledge, skills, techniques, and cultural practices transmitted from one generation to the next. In Korea, selected traditions are formally safeguarded so that the mastery they embody may endure, evolve with integrity, and be passed on to future generations.
When such knowledge is embodied in a work by a recognized tradition-bearer, the result is far more than an object of exceptional craftsmanship. It becomes a tangible expression of a living lineage—shaped by generations of knowledge, disciplined practice, and cultural memory.
To acquire such a work is to preserve a meaningful part of Korea’s living heritage and to support its transmission into the future.
Every work acquired through Signature Legacy is accompanied by a Signature Legacy Provenance Portfolio, prepared to preserve a clear and enduring record of its authorship, origin, and defining characteristics.
Each portfolio includes:
- A signed Certificate of Authenticity (COA)
- The master artisan’s profile and verified official designation
- Essential details of the work, including its title, materials, dimensions, techniques, and date of completion
- Edition, serial, or unique-work designation details, where applicable
- Access to related documentary content, where available
- Tailored guidance on care, handling, and long-term preservation
While the precise format of the documentation may vary according to the nature of the work and the issuing master, our standard remains uncompromising: verified authorship, transparent provenance, and accountable documentation designed to remain with the work throughout its lifetime.
You may verify the authenticity and provenance of your work at any time through three complementary forms of confirmation:
1. Cross-reference the Certificate of Authenticity
Compare the details recorded on the COA—including the master artisan’s name, work title, materials, dimensions, completion date, and edition, serial, or reference number—with the accompanying Signature Legacy provenance record.
2. Inspect the provenance identifiers
Confirm any signature, official stamp, tamper-evident seal, or unique provenance identifier supplied with the work, where applicable.
3. Request written verification from our concierge
Contact the Signature Legacy Private Client Concierge with your order number and COA or reference number. We will review the corresponding records and provide written confirmation of the work’s authenticity and provenance.
This layered verification process ensures that the identity, authorship, and provenance of your work remain traceable and protected well beyond the moment of acquisition.
Most works presented by Signature Legacy are either singular, one-of-a-kind creations or produced in exceptionally small editions. This inherent rarity arises from the master artisan’s exacting, time-intensive process, the individuality of natural materials, and the meticulous handwork invested in every piece.
As each work is individually made, no two examples are ever precisely alike. Where a work forms part of a limited edition, the product page clearly identifies the total edition size and, where assigned, the individual edition number.
A work described as one of a kind will never be reproduced as an identical edition, preserving its distinction and enduring value as a collectible work of art.
B.DIGITAL PROVENANCE & AUTHENTICITY
For selected works, an NFT-based Digital Certificate of Authenticity is available by request as an optional service. Designed to complement—not replace—the signed physical Certificate of Authenticity, it creates a durable, tamper-evident digital record linked to the work’s provenance.
Depending on the work, the digital certificate may record key details such as:
- The master artisan’s name and verified designation
- The title and defining characteristics of the work
- Its date of completion
- Edition, serial, or reference information, where applicable
- Selected provenance and documentary references
Availability and any applicable issuance fee will be clearly stated on the product page or confirmed by our Private Client Concierge before acquisition. Where issued, instructions for accessing, safeguarding, and transferring the digital certificate will also be provided.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, an NFT-based certificate does not transfer copyright, reproduction rights, or other intellectual property rights associated with the work.
C. COLLECTOR-GRADE PACKAGING & SECURE DELIVERY
Every work is prepared for shipment according to its materials, dimensions, weight, structural characteristics, and final destination. Our collector-grade packing protocol prioritizes protection, stability, and refined presentation throughout handling, storage, and international transit.
Depending on the requirements of the work, protective measures may include:
- Custom-fitted, non-abrasive cushioning
- Protective wrapping selected for the work’s materials and finish
- Moisture-control and environmental protection
- Reinforced double-boxing
- Bespoke wooden crating for exceptionally delicate, heavy, or large-scale works
- Refined presentation materials designed to preserve the unboxing experience
Delicate surfaces and projecting details are secured without placing unnecessary pressure on vulnerable areas. Presentation materials are introduced only after the protective structure has been completed, ensuring that elegance never comes at the expense of conservation.
Where required, we coordinate with experienced international art-logistics specialists. The condition of the work and its packaging may also be documented before dispatch, creating an additional record of care and accountability.
Every high-value work is dispatched using a trackable delivery service and, where coverage is available, insured in transit up to its declared purchase value. Signature confirmation is required wherever supported.
Before dispatch, we confirm the selected carrier, scope of insurance coverage, tracking arrangements, and any delivery requirements specific to your destination. Once the work has been collected by the carrier, you will receive the relevant tracking information.
If full-value insurance or reliable tracking is unavailable for your destination, our Private Client Concierge will contact you before dispatch. No work will be released for shipment without prior agreement on the delivery arrangements.
Delivery time depends on
Every work presented by Signature Legacy is created directly by a state-recognized bearer of Korea’s Intangible Cultural Heritage or an officially designated Korean Master Artisan. Nothing in our collection is mass-produced.
Each piece is brought to life through a considered sequence of artistic conception, original design, the discerning selection and preparation of materials, the careful calibration of proportion, scale, and weight, and many exacting stages of handcraftsmanship.
Completed works available for immediate acquisition are prepared for insured dispatch following final inspection and documentation. Made-to-order and commissioned works generally require approximately three to six months to complete, depending on the complexity of the design, the materials involved, and the traditional techniques employed.
As a collector, you are acquiring a singular work of cultural significance—one that exists nowhere else in the world and has been created by a nationally recognized custodian of Korean heritage. For a work of this distinction, three to six months is not merely a period of waiting; it becomes part of the work’s provenance and the story of its creation.
Throughout the commission, our Collector Concierge will share selected progress updates by email, including photographs from the atelier, personal notes or greetings from the Master Artisan, and final images upon completion.
Once the work is complete, we will conduct a final quality inspection, prepare its authenticity documentation, and arrange secure, insured international delivery. The final delivery schedule may vary according to destination and customs clearance, and the most accurate estimate will be provided with your order confirmation.
D. GLOBAL DELIVERY & IMPORT GUIDANCE
Yes. Signature Legacy offers international delivery to selected destinations across North America, Europe, and Asia, including Japan.
Delivery availability is determined by the work’s dimensions, weight, materials, value, destination-specific import requirements, and the availability of an appropriate carrier. Eligible destinations, available delivery methods, and estimated shipping charges will be displayed at checkout whenever possible.
For an oversized or exceptionally delicate work—or if your destination is not listed—please contact our Private Client Concierge. We will assess the delivery requirements and, where feasible, prepare a bespoke international shipping proposal for your acquisition.
Depending on the destination and delivery method, customs duties, VAT, GST, import taxes, and related clearance charges may either be prepaid or payable upon import.
Before payment, your order or bespoke shipping quotation will clearly identify the applicable delivery basis:
- Delivered Duty Paid (DDP): Applicable estimated duties and import taxes are collected at checkout or included in your quotation, providing greater clarity regarding the total landed cost.
- Delivered at Place (DAP): Signature Legacy arranges delivery to the stated destination, while the recipient is responsible for any customs duties, VAT, GST, brokerage fees, and other import-related charges assessed by the destination country. These charges are generally collected by the carrier or customs authority before or upon delivery.
Unless an order is expressly identified as DDP, international delivery should be understood to take place on a DAP basis.
Signature Legacy prepares the appropriate commercial and export documentation to support customs clearance. However, the final classification and assessment of duties and taxes remain subject to the applicable laws and decisions of the destination country’s customs authorities.
E. PAYMENT, RETURNS & REFUNDS
Available payment methods are determined by your billing country and will be displayed securely at checkout. Depending on your region, you may pay using major international credit and debit cards, together with selected global or locally preferred payment methods.
For high-value acquisitions, bespoke commissions, or works requiring an individually prepared quotation, our Private Client Concierge can provide personalized payment guidance. Where available and agreed in writing, a deposit or staged-payment arrangement may also be offered.
All payment instructions will be communicated exclusively through official Signature Legacy channels. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, full payment must be successfully authorized before a completed work is released for delivery.
Because many works offered by Signature Legacy are one of a kind, limited edition, made to order, or individually commissioned, return eligibility is determined by the nature of the work, its condition, and the consumer laws applicable to the order.
Any work that is not eligible for a change-of-mind return will be clearly identified before purchase. Made-to-order, personalized, and commissioned works are generally considered final sale once production has begun, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
If your work arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or materially different from its description, please contact our Private Client Concierge as soon as possible—preferably within 48 hours—to help us preserve the evidence required for a carrier or insurance claim. Please retain all original packaging and provide clear photographs of:
- The exterior packaging and shipping label
- The interior protective materials
- The affected area of the work
- The Certificate of Authenticity and accompanying documentation
We will review the matter promptly and arrange an appropriate resolution in accordance with our full Return & Refund Policy and applicable consumer law. Where a refund is approved, it will ordinarily be issued to the original payment method and in the original transaction currency.
Nothing in this policy limits any statutory rights available to you under applicable consumer law.
F. PRIVATE CLIENT & TRADE SERVICES
Yes. Signature Legacy provides discreet, individually tailored support for private collectors and select professional clients, including hotels, galleries, interior designers, architects, cultural institutions, and luxury brands.
Depending on the scope of the request, our services may include:
- Confidential artwork sourcing
- Privately curated recommendations
- Bespoke commissions
- Multi-work and project-based acquisitions
- Provenance and authenticity consultation
- Artwork selection tailored to a particular interior or setting
- International delivery and specialist installation coordination
- Bespoke quotations for hospitality, gallery, and brand projects
Every inquiry is reviewed individually, with careful consideration given to the client’s objectives, the setting in which the work will be placed, and the availability of the master artisan.
To request a private consultation, please select Private Client / Trade Inquiry in our contact form. Your inquiry will be directed to the appropriate member of our team for priority consideration.
Yes. Selected master artisans accept a limited number of bespoke commissions, subject to the nature of their artistic practice, atelier schedule, and the feasibility of the proposed work.
To begin an inquiry, we invite you to share:
- The intended setting or purpose of the work
- Your preferred dimensions and materials
- Your aesthetic direction or desired atmosphere
- Any relevant interior photographs or spatial references
- Your preferred completion period
- The final delivery destination
Following an initial consultation, we will confirm the commission’s feasibility, estimated production timeline, quotation, payment schedule, and any practical limitations. Production will begin only after the written commission brief has been approved and the required deposit has been received.
Where appropriate, selected progress updates from the atelier—including photographs of the making process and messages from the master artisan—may be shared with you, allowing you to witness the work gradually taking form in the master’s hands.
Because each commission is individually conceived and created by hand, subtle variations and the master artisan’s creative judgment are integral to the finished work. Bespoke and commissioned works are generally considered final sale once production has begun, subject always to applicable consumer law.
G. PRIVACY, CONSERVATION & CLIENT CARE
We regard privacy and payment security as an essential part of every client relationship.
Our store is powered by Amazon web service,, whose platform is certified as Level 1 PCI DSS compliant, and payments are processed through authorized payment providers. We apply appropriate technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
We use personal information only for the legitimate purposes described in our Privacy Policy, which may include:
- Processing payments and fulfilling orders
- Arranging delivery and providing client support
- Protecting transactions against fraud and unauthorized activity
- Complying with applicable legal and regulatory obligations
- Providing communications or personalized services where you have given consent
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or withdraw your consent to certain uses. Further details—including how to exercise your privacy rights—are available in our Privacy Policy and Your Privacy Choices page.
Every acquisition is accompanied by a Care & Conservation Guide tailored to the work’s materials, techniques, finishes, and structural characteristics.
Because lacquerware, ceramics, woodwork, metalwork, textiles, and other heritage works respond differently to their surroundings, the instructions provided with your individual work should always take precedence. As general principles, we recommend that you:
- Handle the work with clean, dry hands or suitable gloves, where advised
- Protect it from prolonged direct sunlight and excessive ultraviolet exposure
- Avoid sudden or extreme changes in temperature and humidity
- Keep it away from excessive heat, moisture, air-conditioning vents, and other unstable environments
- Lift and support it from its most structurally stable areas rather than from handles or projecting details
- Use only a soft, dry, non-abrasive cloth unless alternative care instructions are specifically provided
- Avoid household cleaners, solvents, oils, polishes, and unapproved restoration treatments
- Consult Signature Legacy or a qualified conservator before undertaking any repair or restoration
With attentive care, your work can mature gracefully, preserve its distinctive character, and be treasured for generations to come.
